Close of escrow occurs when all contingencies have been removed, the loan is funded and the deed is recorded in the buyers name. 

At the close of escrow you will be required (unless otherwise arranged) to hand over all keys, remotes, and other materials you will be passing onto the buyer.

And you will receive any proceeds from the sale of your house at the close of escrow.
